Medieval Dynasty Field Guide at medievaldynastydb.com is an independent fan guide. The operator responsible for this site's handling of personal information is YC, based in China. For privacy questions or requests, contact privacy@medievaldynastydb.com.

Browsing and hosting

You can read our guides without registering an account. The site does not provide account registration, comments, or payment forms. Its guide search filters the page in your browser; the search feature does not submit your search text to a server.

Cloudflare provides this site's hosting and delivery services. When you visit, Cloudflare processes technical information that may include your IP address, traffic routing information, system configuration, and information about requests to the site. This supports delivery and protection of the site. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy, particularly its information about End Users. This hosting activity is separate from the optional Google Analytics setup described below.

Google Analytics use

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which guides people read, how visitors reach the site, and how the site is used, so we can improve its content and navigation.

With your consent, Google Analytics can receive information such as page addresses and titles, referral information, visit and interaction events, browser and device characteristics, and approximate location. Requests to Google also involve your IP address. Cookie-based measurement can associate visits with a browser identifier; this should not be understood as anonymous browsing.

After you accept analytics, Google Analytics uses first-party cookies, commonly named _ga and a name beginning with _ga_, to distinguish browsers and maintain session information. Google's documented default expiry for both cookies is two years. Our setting uses that duration and allows expiry to refresh relative to your most recent visit while analytics is permitted. Browser restrictions may shorten how long cookies survive, and you can delete them through your browser. See Google's cookie documentation and its explanation of cookie expiry and updates.

Read how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services for Google's explanation of collection, processing, and privacy controls.

Your analytics choice

The same choice applies to every visitor, wherever they are. Google Analytics stays blocked until you choose to allow analytics. Declining or leaving the choice unanswered sends no Google Analytics requests, including requests without cookies. The guides remain available regardless of your choice. If you agree, analytics cookies and measurement begin.

When your browser allows local storage, we remember your acceptance or refusal there for 180 days from your explicit choice. This preference is stored on your device rather than sent to Google before consent. After that period, or if you clear the site's stored data, analytics requires a new choice. Analytics does not start if the browser cannot save acceptance. If a refusal cannot be saved in local storage, we try to keep it in this tab's session storage instead. That temporary refusal applies only to this tab's session, not other tabs or later sessions. If neither storage is available, analytics remains off on the current page. The control explains these limits and asks you to clear this site's data before revisiting, because an earlier saved acceptance may remain.

You can change your choice through Privacy settings in the page footer. Withdrawing stops future analytics measurement and removes this site's accessible Google Analytics cookies. After your refusal is saved, the page reloads if analytics has already loaded, to stop its running code. Withdrawal cannot recall requests already sent or in transit and does not automatically erase data previously collected by Google; use the privacy contact above for requests concerning your information.

Retention, transfers, and your rights

Our Google Analytics property retains user-level and event-level data for 2 months. Reset user data on new activity is off, so new activity does not extend the retention period of a user identifier. Expired data is deleted through Google’s monthly deletion process. This setting is separate from cookie expiry and the lifetime of your consent preference. It does not set the retention period of Google's standard aggregated Analytics reports. See Google's data retention explanation.

We retain privacy contact requests and related correspondence for 2 months, then delete them. This contact-request retention period is separate from the Google Analytics user-level and event-level retention setting described above; it does not set Google's aggregated-report retention or Cloudflare's own operational retention.

Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent for optional analytics and its cookies. We rely on our legitimate interests in providing a reliable website and protecting it against misuse for hosting and security processing.

Google and Cloudflare operate internationally, so processing may take place outside your country, including in the United States. Google LLC and Cloudflare, Inc. are listed as active participants in the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, its UK Extension, and the Swiss–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, including non-HR personal data (official list checked on 13 September 2026). Participation covers transfers within the scope of each company's certification; it does not mean every transfer to every provider entity is covered. You can check their current entries in the official Data Privacy Framework List.

Our Google Analytics contracting party is Google LLC (United States), under Google's standard Analytics terms for China. Our Cloudflare self-service contracting party is Cloudflare, Inc. (United States), under its Self-Serve Subscription Agreement.

Our Analytics account is covered by Google's Ads Data Processing Terms. For transfers subject to European data protection law, Google uses the applicable Data Privacy Framework for eligible transfers to the United States and Standard Contractual Clauses where required by those terms. Cloudflare's Data Processing Addendum provides for transfers within its Data Privacy Framework certification and Standard Contractual Clauses for restricted transfers, with the UK Addendum and Swiss adaptations where applicable. These mechanisms cover only the transfers within their scope; they do not establish compliance with China's separate data-export requirements.

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive your personal information, restrict or object to processing, and complain to a data protection authority. Use the privacy contact above to make a request. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
