Medieval Dynasty Villagers: Recruit, Supply, and Assign Jobs

Prepare a home and supplies, recruit for a job you need, then assign both the worker and the building’s production. Use this checklist for your first resident and for troubleshooting a worker who produces nothing.

Prepare before you invite anyone

Before recruiting, prepare housing, food, water and wood, plus a workplace. Check the recruitment requirement shown by your game; this guide does not assume a fixed Dynasty Reputation threshold.

  • A finished home with an available adult place.
  • Food, drink and wood ready for the new resident.
  • A workplace slot and the inputs or tools listed for its job.

Recruit for a specific role

Look for recruitable travelers at campfires near settlements. Inspector Mode shows skills; compare the candidate with the job you want filled. A lumberjack uses Extraction, for example.

Our recommendation: recruit one person, complete their setup, then check the village before inviting someone else.

Assign both a home and a working job

A home, a workplace and a production order are separate parts of the setup.

  1. Select the resident in Management and assign an available house.
  2. Assign the workplace and profession.
  3. Open the building’s details and choose its production.
  4. Read the listed inputs, tools, output and warning icons.

Keep the shared supplies in the right places

Use shared storage as the village grows. A resident’s house chest can supply the early household while you set up the wider system.

Why is my villager not working?

This is a suggested check order; the building’s warning tells you what needs attention in your game.

  1. Check the resident’s house and workplace assignments.
  2. Check that the building has an active production order.
  3. Look for missing inputs or required tools.
  4. Check output storage space.
  5. If production runs but is too low, compare the relevant worker skill and the village’s demand.

Common questions

Which villager should I recruit first?

We recommend filling a job that solves your current shortage, with a candidate whose relevant skill suits that work.

Why is an assigned worker producing nothing?

Check the production order, inputs, tool icons and storage. Employment alone does not configure the building’s output.
