Platforms named by the official crossplay release
The June 27, 2024 release announcement names these platforms for crossplay. GOG appears in that released list, superseding a June 13 pre-release notice that said its co-op support was still being worked on.
This list does not establish PS4 or Xbox One support. Check your exact console generation before arranging a shared game.
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X/S
- Steam
- Epic Games
- Microsoft Game Pass
- GOG
Check the game version before joining
In March 2025, official public-testing guidance required matching game versions and warned that Steam test builds could not crossplay with other platforms. Use that dated guidance as a starting point when an update interrupts your group, and check the latest official announcement for newer instructions.
- Confirm that the campaign is in The Oxbow.
- Compare the version numbers displayed by every player.
- For a cross-platform group, use normal public releases rather than a Steam test build.
- If versions differ, check whether an update is available on the affected platform before retrying.
- If they match and joining still fails, contact official support with the platforms, version numbers and exact error message.
Do not mix the base game with New Settlement VR
Medieval Dynasty New Settlement is a separate Meta Quest VR spin-off. These Oxbow instructions cover the base game, so they should not be used to diagnose a New Settlement session.
